Hi I’m Dotti. Nice to e-meet you.

I’m an animator and a cartoonist

As a kid I always drew and watched cartoons. It was a dream to grow up and work in that world.  I originally trained as a traditional animator/illustrator in Norwich School of Art and the School of Visual Arts in New York City and in 1998 when I returned to London, discovering a knack for computers and seeing an opportunity, I set up and developed the 3D department for the award winning stop motion company Loose Moose.

That was a while ago and many companies ago, and now have considerable experience of the whole production process and an extensive knowledge of Maya in a professional environment.

I have also been invited to speak at universities in the UK and abroad and at Animation festivals including the Bradford Animation festival and Animae Caribe in the Caribbean .( which I was able to do 4 years running and ended up teaching workshops over there. Hell, I nearly moved there but then I fell in love with an Italian.)

I still work in animation production for London and other UK companies, but now I work remotely from my studio in Italy, creating commercials just the same way as I did but without the commuting!

As I work remotely from my studio, I understand that trust and capability is paramount and integral to a successful project. This is necessary on both sides and for this I am a clear communicator.

There are two quotes in my life that I love :

Clear communication, long friendship.

The other is:

A day without a smile is a day lost. Charlie Chaplin. ( Who,by the way, is one of my heros)

…and I’m a wood sculptor.. ( when I can!)

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. If you would like to work with me I would be very happy to chat! Contact me

Thank you for your co-operation!
